Rights of Children

Every Child

It isn't just a handful of children. Or some. Or the lucky ones. It's every child.

Under the Convention on the Rights of the Child, every child has civil, cultural, economic, political and social rights. According to the convention, every child has:

* the right to survival;
* the right to develop to the fullest;
* the right to acquire a name and a nationality;
* the right to not be separated from family;
* the right to be protected from physical and mental violence, abuse and neglect;
* the right to be protected from work exploitation;
* the right to be from free discrimination;
* the right to be protected during armed conflict;
* the right to shelter;
* the right to sanitation;
* the right to education;
* the right to health care;
* the right to religious freedom;
* the right to be a part of a family and a society;
* the right to freedom of expression;
* the right to a full and decent life despite disabilities.

And every day children are denied these rights. It's not fair.
